2.06.010 Created
    A.  There is created a seven-member planning commission of Douglas County. 
    B.  The board of county commissioners specifically ratifies, confirms and approves of all prior acts of the planning commission in establishing and creating the seven member planning commission. (Ord. 259 §1(part), 1977)

2.06.020 Appointment--Term--Vacancies--Removal--Compensation
    A.  The members of the planning commission shall be appointed by the chairman of the board of county commissioners, with the approval of the board of county commissioners. 
    B.  The members of the planning commission shall hold no other public office except that one such member may be a member of the zoning board of adjustment. 
    C.  The term of each member shall be four years. 
    D.  Vacancies occurring other than through the expiration of term shall be filled for the unexpired term in the same manner as set forth above for appointments. 
    E.  Members may be removed, after public hearing, by a majority vote of the board of county commissioners for inefficiency, neglect of duty or malfeasance of office. 
    F.  Members of the planning commission shall serve with compensation fixed by resolution of the board, within statutory limits, and reasonable travel expenses made necessary in the fulfillment of their duties as members. (Ord. 1000, 2002; Ord. 259 §1(part), 1977)

2.06.030 Chairman and officers
    A.  The planning commission shall elect a chairman and vice-chairman from its membership and each shall serve for a term of one year with eligibility for reelection to said positions. 
    B.  The planning commission shall create and fill such other offices as it may determine necessary. (Ord. 259 §1(part), 1977)

2.06.040 Expenditures
The expenditures of the planning commission, exclusive of any gifts received by it, shall be subject to, and within, the amounts appropriated for the commission and the purpose of it by the board of county commissioners, which shall provide the funds, equipment and accommodations necessary for the commission's work. (Ord. 259 §1(part), 1977)

2.06.050 Meetings and records
    A. The regular meeting of the planning commission will be held on the second Tuesday of each calendar month; provided, if the day is a nonjudicial day, the meeting then will be held on the next judicial day.
    B. The planning commission may adopt rules for the transaction of its business and must maintain a record of its resolutions, transactions, findings and determinations. The records shall be public records and maintained as provided by law. (Ord. 1110, 2005; Ord. 787, 1997; Ord. 270 §1, 1977; Ord. 259 §1(part), 1977)

2.06.060 Master plan and duties
The planning commission shall prepare and adopt a master plan setting forth a comprehensive, long-term general plan for the physical development of the county pursuant to the master plan provisions set forth in chapter 278 of NRS, and shall perform such other duties, functions and powers as provided by law.
